The Pocono Center for the Arts continues its new Broadway Cabaret Series to be held on a regular basis at the legendary Deer Head Inn. Produced and hosted by Producing Artistic Director Stephen DeAngelis, the new series complements their ongoing Mainstage Broadway Concert Series and features musical theatre's fastest rising performers who will be given the opportunity to display their talents in an intimate atmosphere. The series kicks off on Monday, August 19th at 7 PM with Benjamin Eakeley(Cabaret; She Loves Me; Sweeney Todd; On a Clear Day You Can See Forever), Rashidra Scott (Ain't Too Proud-The Temptations Musical; Beautiful: The Carole; Sister Act; Hair; Finian's Rainbow; Avenue Q), Jenny Lee Stern (Rocky; A Christmas Story;Forbidden Broadway: Alive & Kicking). Musical Director/Accompanist will be Asher Denburg . This initiative provides a rare chance to see the "Stars of Tomorrow" today.
BENJAMIN EAKELEY played Clifford Bradshaw in the recent Roundabout Theatre Company National Tour of Cabaret, and he has appeared on Broadway in the revivals of She Loves Me, Cabaret, Sweeney Todd and On a Clear Day, You Can See Forever. He has been seen in six films, including "The Good Shepherd" (dir. Robert De Niro), and his television credits include "Orange Is the New Black," "The Blacklist" and "The Good Wife." His jazz cabaret series, Broadway Swinger, Vols. 1 and 2, has been named a Critics' Pick and "One of the Best Cabarets in New York" by Time Out. Eakeley has received a New York Drama Critics' Circle Special Citation (Sweeney Todd) and an Astaire Award Nomination (She Loves Me), and he was a national finalist in the Lotte Lenya Competition for Singers.

JENNY LEE STERN was last seen on Broadway in Rocky (Original Broadway Cast) and A Christmas Story. She toured the country as Mary Delgado in Jersey Boys, originating the role in the Chicago and Toronto companies. Off-Broadway, Ms. Stern garnered critical acclaim for her portrayals of Judy Garland, Patti Lupone, Bernadette Peters, Sutton Foster (and more!) in Forbidden Broadway: Alive & Kicking and as The Diva in Spamilton. Favorite roles include Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd; Judy Garland in Judy Garland: World's Greatest Entertainer; Kira in Xanadu; Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors; Lola in Damn Yankees; Liz in High Society. Ms. Stern has been seen frequently on the cabaret circuit in NYC, performing at Town Hall, Feinstein's, Birdland, Lincoln Center, and 54 Below, including her solo show "Just A Girl". Regionally, she has found her niche playing Patsy Cline in Always... Patsy Cline. She also tours nationally with her original show "Patsy Cline: She's Got You". She has been seen on TV in "The Sopranos" and "The Mysteries of Laura" as well as annually in the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade.

STEPHEN DeANGELIS (Producer/Host) returns for this edition of Cabaret at the Deer Head, an ongoing series celebrating the best of Broadway's emerging talent. He is excited to return to the Poconos as early in his career he was the first Artistic Director of the Shawnee Playhouse. Last year in his first season as Producing Artistic Director of the Pocono Center for the Arts, he produced and hosted Broadway Divafest, Broadway Spotlight, Broadway Memories and A Broadway Celebration where he showcased the talents of Broadway's finest vocalists. Stephen has produced over 300 different Broadway concerts at venues in New York and across the United States featuring a multitude of Broadway stars including many Tony Award and Drama Desk Award winners and nominees, stars from hit television series and films whose roots are on stage and Broadway's fastest rising young performers. He is also the Producing Artistic Director and Host of At This Performance... , the critically acclaimed concert series that has showcased the talents of over 1000 Broadway Standbys, Understudies and Alternates since October 2003. He has cast over 3600 network television and radio commercials for Manhattan's leading advertising agencies for such clients as DirecTV, Olive Garden, Red Lobster, E*TRADE, Febreze, Cover Girl, Pantene, Advil, Robitussin, Downy and Hewlett-Packard and has contributed to many historic and award-winning spots and campaigns including many which have been recognized with Platinum, Gold and Silver Lions at Cannes. Stephen also cast the six-time Emmy Award nominated Playhouse Disney series "Johnny and the Sprites" starring Tony Award nominee John Tartaglia which was seen on the Disney Channel. His work has been seen in New York and regionally in over 300 theatrical productions for companies including Musicals Tonight!, York Theatre Company, The John W. Engeman Theater at Northport, The Drama League, Casa Mañana, North Shore Music Theatre, Virginia Stage Company, Connecticut Repertory Theatre, Syracuse Stage, Stage One, Studio Arena Theatre, American Stage Company, GeVa Theatre, Starlight Theatre of Kansas City, the St. Louis Municipal Opera (The MUNY) and Dallas Summer Musicals among others as well as numerous festival showcases, workshops and readings. Other credits include The World AIDS Day All-Star Concert Revivals of Pippin and The Secret Garden, the All-Star production of Elegies for Angels, Punks and Raging Queens and the 25th Anniversary National Tour of Hair. He is a proud member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society and has staged musicals in major theatres across the country in Boston, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Dallas and St. Louis and throughout New York and New England. Throughout his career, Stephen has cast over 100,000 actors across all entertainment platforms. Recent productions include the New York premiere of Unexpected Joy by two-time Tony Award nominee Bill Russell (Original Cast recording on JAY records, the Off-Broadway production of Stephen Sondheim'sMarry Me a Little and the All-Star concert version of Into the Woods. He also was nominated for two 2018 BroadwayWorld Awards.
