Show Of Shows at the Stroudsmoor

Sunday November 23, 2025

It’s August and things are really heating up in the art world around the area! Our July Summer Spectacular Show at Shawnee Inn with Broadway performers was enjoyed by a sold out crowd, with a special patriotic tribute and special performances by the Shawnee Playhouse singers. Up next is the Show of Shows event at Stroudsmoor Inn on November 23rd 2025.

This event will more than likely sell out as well, so get your tickets TODAYI Go to our webpage at www.poconocenterforthearts.org or contact Director, Skip Scheetz at 610-657-4622, TODAY!

If you are an artist or fine crafter – there are opportunities ahead to get involved, for you, “Fall Splendor,” “Heralds of Winter,” and the “Holiday Art Exhibition,” will be open for artist submissions soon. Watch for upcoming details on our Facebook Page and (new, updated) website, and in the newsletter.

If you are an arts patron, exhibitions, special events, and chances to meet and talk to the artists and creators in the area, classes and workshops (see the list in this newsletter) abound, and your calendars can be filled with fun events for you to check out and enjoy, find art to purchase and/or make someone’s day, with a gift of fine craftwork! Art exhibitions through Pocono Center For The Arts are being held at the newly named “Andrea Rimberg Gallery” at the Renegade Winery on Main Street in downtown Stroudsburg, PA, named for one of the area’s hard working and creative artists, who started this gallery before it was Renegade Winery and ran it for many years. Thank you, Andrea!

There’s artwork hanging at the Eastern Monroe Public Library in two shows through October 10th, and the Auradell Gallery at Stroudsmoor Inn is hosting an excellent exhibition of Heidi Hooper’s artwork through September 30th 2025. Check them out!

Artworks at several other art galleries around the area are hosting exhibitions as well; Ayanna’s Greenhouse Gallery event at Ann Street Park over August 3/4 was a wonderland of art and craft-work, antiques and plants, wonder and fun and a huge success – please read on for more info on these events, and all the other fun events happening around the area throughout the next few months and beyond. Whew!

The arts are certainly alive in the Poconos! Get your culture on, and get involved! Opportunities to volunteer with any of these events are also open and waiting to welcome you. Enjoy the days and weeks ahead!

Cool Cats have come to Delaware Water Gap!

Have you heard? Over 15 creatively constructed Cool Cats have invaded Delaware Water Gap and are vacationing in virtually all downtown businesses! The cats, and their area artist creators love Delaware Water Gap, and invite the local community and visitors to walk the town to locate as many as they can! Pocono Center For The Arts is presenting this fundraiser – a unique and fun art experience. Since July 1st through August 30th 2025, the public is encouraged to locate at least 12 cat sculptures and can submit the location and title of each cat, to be entered to win awesome and valuable prizes, donated by great local businesses and individuals.

Folks can submit what they think are the correct answers, and if determined so, will be entered into a raffle, with random names being chosen to win one of an awesome selection of prizes! This raffle will take place at the Fundraiser on September 13th, 2025 at Sycamore Grill in Delaware Water Gap (info for joining us at this event coming out shortly).

Submit answers to info@poconocenterforthearts.org with Cool Cats of DWG in the subject line, to have a chance to be entered. Prizes are coming from Camelback Water Park, Studio M Glass, PCFTA, Artist – Heidi Hooper, Bo Tangle, Klues Escape Room, Fawn Beauty and MORE! We are hosting an online bid auction for the cat sculptures beginning in mid August 2025. Artists will receive 70% of the proceeds and PCFTA will receive the remainder.

Jane’s Journey

Jane Mayhew MacHale, Editor, The Call Do you ever just wonder “why here, why now”? Things don’t always go well in the art world, then suddenly, the skies open up, the angels sing, and at least for the moment, things click. Draw a big red circle around this moment. You are HERE. It doesn’t mean suddenly, sales are universally up, patrons and artists line up at the door, or we have so many volunteers that we need to make up new projects to keep everyone busy, it simply means there is a shift that many feel, perhaps initially, in a spiritual sense, before anything can be measured physically. Since the Fine Arts arm of PCFTA was created, so many doors have opened. The energy it creates cannot be denied, even if it gets tedious at times.

My personal favorite project, if I must choose, has been Cool Cats of Delaware Water Gap. The online auction is about to begin, with the countdown the our Saturday, September 13th 2025 event, which will allow artists, patrons, cat fans, and the curious, to gather at Sycamore Grill in DWG to have a lovely afternoon pre-fixed afternoon buffet luncheon from 2 – 4pm, meet new friends, take a chance on some really nice raffle gifts from the practical to pampering, and of course, see all 15+ cat statues on display in Sycamore Grill’s Event Room. Anyone can bid on the cats online, (The opening of the online auction and Fundraiser details will be announced very soon!) but those present can have the advantage to see details of the artists’ handiwork, place final bids, & be part of the festivities! Stay tuned for ticket info!

This is an important first official fundraiser we are having for PCFTA, & we need you all to attend, bid, and support, to allow us to put our best paw forward! Artists will collect 70% of winning bids, with 30% going to PCFTA.

Three cat rescues, Animals Can’t Talk, Ozzie’s Angels, and SOS Pet Rescue, also benefited with donations made from the initial artist fees. Artists, thank you! It was the greatest honor & joy to present each organization with their donation, and know it goes far in these unprecedented times with epidemic numbers of cats in need!

Stay tuned for many events to follow. We are planning next year now, and will hold a space for any of you artists, and everyone who answers “The Call.” Do you hear it?
