On August 21st we had a special event for families. Before the show a chalk artists, a face painter and musician showed the young kids a good time. Then they were escorted into the theater and got to see a live show with Broadway Stars. Some even got to participate in the show. It was a wonderful event for both the kids and their parents.

On June 13th 2022 we had another wonderful show at The Deer Head Inn featuring three Fantastic Broadway performers. Here is a small portion of that show.
From
Producing Artistic Director Stephen DeAngelis- In May, I worked on a very special music
video. The "Resilient Project" unites emergency healthcare
professionals from across the country with over 60 Broadway
theatre artists to virtually perform 'RESILIENT,' a song of
inspiration and strength composed by Dave Ogrin and Jay Berkow for
their new musical "Mata Hari". You may recognize a few familiar
faces who have performed in our concerts over the past year.
The Broadway performers have been recognized with 3 Tony Award
wins, 15 Tony Award nominations, 7 Drama Desk Award wins and 19
Drama Desk Award nominations. In the face of the COVID-19
Pandemic, the video premiered during National Nurses Week to
benefit The American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP),
Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS' Covid-19 Emergency Assistance
Fund, and The Emergency Nurses Association (ENA). I hope this
inspires you and lifts your spirits. I look forward to seeing you
all again as soon as is possible.
I
love being able to introduce new faces to our audiences in the
Poconos. Last July, Catherine Porter ("Next to Normal") appeared
in our Broadway Cabaret Concert Series at The Deer Head. She was
joined on this song by legendary composer Jim Vallance. Here's a
video of their performance of "Summer of '69" (which Jim composed
with Bryan Adams) from their recent sold out concert at Birdland
at NYC. I hope this brings back many happy memories of when they
performed this song for us all. -Stephen DeAngelis

Dear
Friends, I
have been thinking of you all quite a bit over the last several
days and wanted to reach out. While we are on a bit of a hiatus, I
thought I would
share some videos of many of the performers who have joined us
over the past year as well as those who I hope to bring to you as
soon as is possible. The first is Tony Award and Drama Desk Award
nominee Chad Kimball who created the role of Huey Calhoun in the
Tony Award winning musical "Memphis". He was supposed to join us
last Monday evening at The Deer Head on his night off from the
Broadway company of the Tony Award-winning "Come From Away". We
are so fortunate that PBS recorded and broadcast "Memphis" to
preserve all of the show's the amazing performances. Here's Chad
with his showstopping rendition of "Memphis Lives in Me". More
videos from other amazing talent coming soon. Sending warmest
regards for continued good health to you and yours.-Stephen
Pocono Center for the Arts held its first Open Call so Producing Artistic Director Stephen DeAngelis could familairize himself
with locally based talent. Over 60 area performers auditioned and were coached by Stephen. It proved to be a successful and inspiring
experience for all. Here is a video clip of Kristen Long from Saturday's auditions. We look forward to conducting more Open Calls on an
ongoing basis.
